Charlie Vill - President / State Director

Charlie Vill owns Oconee Construction Services, which is a licensed General Contractor specializing in commercial projects including retail, recreational, restaurant, hospitality, office, institutional and medical projects for clients such as Reynolds Lake Oconee, the University of Georgia, UGA Athletic Association, The Village at Harmony Crossing, the Harbor at Harmony Crossing, Atlanta Gas Light Company, and Athens Technical College.  Charlie has been in the construction industry for over 30 years.  Charlie graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree and served as a Combat Engineer Officer in the US Army.  As a member of the association Charlie serves a board member of the Fran Faxon Scholarship Foundation and has previously served as a Builder Director.


Jacob Meyer - Vice President

    Jacob grew up in the Greensboro area, where his father, Craig Meyer, taught him at a very young age the importance of hard work and craftsmanship.  Since he was a teenager Jacob has been working in some facet of the construction industry.

  Jacob graduated from Greene County high school in 1996.  From there he went to college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff Arizona.  Where he pursued a degree in music and education, graduating in 2000.  While he was in Arizona he worked construction for several contractors.  This gave him an important perspective on the contractor business.

  After graduating from college, Jacob and his wife joined the Peace Corps for two years.  They were stationed in Chipli, Zambia, a country located in sub-Saharan Africa.  From this experience Jacob was able to learn many things you cannot learn in a book or classroom setting.

  Upon returning from Zambia, Jacob and his wife choose to move to Greensboro and the lake area for the opportunity it provided.  At that time Jacob went back to work with his father at Meyer Contracting Inc. where he used all his experiences to build custom homes in the lake area for the last 18 years.

Bryan Combs - Treasurer / Secretary


    Bryan is the co-owner of Artisan Built, LLC and has been building and remodeling custom homes in the lake area since 2000.   He served on the LOABA board in several capacities over the past 15 years.

Bryan earned a BS in engineering from the US Air Force Academy and MS in engineering management from St Mary’s University.  In addition to being a partner in Artisan, he served 24 years of active and reserve duty as a civil engineer in the US Air Force.  He is currently a colonel in the AF Reserves and serves as a deputy commander at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Atlanta.

Bryan lives in the lake area with his wife, Maggie, and their three sons, Alden, Smith and Conley.  He looks forward to serving on the board in the years to come and the opportunity to improve and expand participation of the board in the community.


Randy Daniel - Past President

     Randy has been in the housing business for over 25 years. His business, Daniel Custom Construction, specializes in custom homes as well as commercial construction and residential renovations.
He has been in the Lake Oconee area since 1976 and witnessed the tremendous growth of Lake Oconee from the very beginning.
Randy and his wife Kathy are the proud parents of four sons Joshua and daughter-in-law Lucy, Jeremy and daughter-in-law Grace, David and Dylan, and four grandchildren. Kathy is a sales executive with Align Realty Lake Oconee.
After numerous years of being a member of the Lake Oconee Area Builder’s Association and having served on a committee in the past, Randy has a strong desire to make this great association even better. He plans to use his background, local contacts and years of building experience to strengthen and grow the association as well as find more ways to benefit the members of the association.


Christy Kimbrough - Associate VP, Membership Director & Charitable Contributions 

Christy Kimbrough with Oconee Comfort Insulation has been in the construction industry for more than 18 years.   She has been an active member of the Builders Association for many years including serving on several committees such as Membership, Blood Drive, Charitable Contributions, The Big Event and Golf Tournament committees.  She was recognized as the Associate of the Year for the LOABA for 2009.  Christy and her husband Robert reside in Greene County with their 3 children – Peyton, J.R. and Cory.


David Calvert - Builder Director

    Born and raised in Putnam County, David Has over 30 years building experience in the Lake Oconee area. David is owner of Calvert and White Custom Homes, LLC.  Founded in 2001, Calvert and White has built both commercial and residential properties but specializes in the building of custom homes in the Lake Oconee area. David believes in using a hands on approach to building and supervising construction to assure customers receive the value and quality they deserve.
David graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Engineering. He and his wife Rana have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. As a lifelong resident of Putnam County, David has watched and experienced the growth and development of the Lake Oconee area. He plans to use his experience and his love of the area to help strengthen and support the local building industry and the community in which it resides. David has served in the past on the board as a director as well as secretary and treasurer.

Dan Jones - Builder Director

   Dan Jones is co-owner with brother Bobby Jones of Jones & Jones Premier Builders, Inc. 

Dan has been involved in construction for 30+ years in various fields ranging from apartment developments, restaurants and other light commercial projects to luxury custom homes.

Jones & Jones was incorporated in 2000 and excels in the quality custom home market, but also does large and small remodeling, as well as light commercial projects.  Jones & Jones won the 2010 Builder of the Year award for homes over 7,000 square feet, as well as Lake Oconee Living Magazine’s Builder of the Year for 2010 and 2011.  Jones & Jones was also awarded the first ever HBAG BEAM Award in 2012 for its commitment to the local building industry.

Dan graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Building Construction in 1987 and received an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Wharton Business School in 1996. 

Dan lives in Madison with his wife, Reevee and their two sons – Bobby (19) and Denham (17).  Reevee teaches 2nd grade at Morgan County Primary School.  He has served in numerous positions within the MMBA and is looking forward to continuing his efforts within the LOABA.  


Bob Hatfield - Builder Director


    Bob has worked with New Leaf Homes in the Lake Oconee area since 2006.  He currently runs New Leaf Custom Homes concentrating his efforts on custom home building in the Lake area.  Bob has built more than 100 homes occupying the landscape of Georgia’s Lake Country.  Originally from West Virginia, Bob honed his home building skills in Lexington Kentucky, while operating his own building company before moving to Georgia.

Working in the Lake Oconee area, Bob has had the opportunity to work with several award-winning architects while building show homes for Southern Living, Link’s Golf, Ideal Living, and Travel and Leisure magazines.  Bob has obtained professional designations through the National Association of Home Builders including CGB, GMB, CGP, MCGP and EarthCraft Builder. Bob was the first builder in the State of Georgia to obtain the Master Certified Green Builder designation.

Bob and his wife Charity reside in Reynolds Lake Oconee with their teenage son, a senior at Lake Oconee Academy, and daughter, a junior at LOA.  Their oldest daughter lives in CA.


Gary Pierotti - Builder Director

    Gary Pierotti owns and operates Camden Homes with his wife Nancy. This year Gary will be serving in his twelfth year on the Board of Directors. Gary has served as President of the Association twice and Secretary/Treasurer. Gary and Nancy are residents of Reynolds Plantation and members of the Reynolds Plantation Preferred Builders Program. They assist their clients in designing and building custom homes to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Additionally they are proud to be in a select group of builders authorize to build homes featured in the Reynolds Signature Home Collection.

Serving and working on this Board has been very rewarding for Gary and he looks forward to growing the association and expanding its influence in the community as Builder Director. He sees the opportunity to support the successful Programs in place while growing the membership, expanding education and be a voice for the local building industry in the Lake Oconee area.


Greig McCully - Associate Director (2017 & 2018)

  Greig has been in the Outdoor Cooking business since 2007 and an enthusiast for over 20 years.  He has established himself as an expert in the safe construction, installation and appliances for the outside of the home.  Greig and his business Fireside Outdoor Kitchens have extensive experience with gas logs, fire pits, outdoor fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and all outdoor appliances.  His retail store in Augusta, GA displays multiple outdoor kitchens, gas logs, outdoor heaters and all the most popular cooking tools along with stand alone grills.  They offer cooking classes which always strive to offer the customer betters ways to use what they already own and a strong desire for people to walk away with new ideas and knowledge they can use to enjoy the outdoor cooking experience even more.  Fireside Outdoor Kitchens design, sell and build outdoor kitchens enjoying a strong working relationship with builders that desire access to a larger product line and CAD services for these projects.

  Greig and his wife Katherine “Kat” have enjoyed the Lake Oconee area since 2007 and have recently made Lake Oconee their full time home.  They have one daughter in college and one son attending the Nathanael Greene Academy.

  Having been a member of the Lake Oconee Area Builder’s Association for several years Greig wanted to become a more involved member looking to meet people in the area and expand his network of friends and customers and work to see the association become an even bigger success.


Dennis Chamberlain- Associate Director

     Dennis is the owner of Stair South and a former Vice President of the Stairway Manufacturer's Association, currently serving on the Code Committee. He, his wife Terri and granddaughter Bella reside at Lake Oconee. Originally born in Minnesota, he grew up in Atlanta where he began trimming houses and installing staircases with woodworking always being his gift and passion.

  After doing a few installations at the lake he moved his family here and never looked back.

  Stair South is now a full manufacturing and installation business which includes metal, millwork, CNC machining and powder coating in residential and commercial markets.

  Now with his son Greg running the day to day operations he devotes the majority of his time measuring and designing various projects and working closely with his builders and clients to deliver creativity and quality to every project.

  He looks forward to interacting with the other members and board members, strengthening the association and building industry in our area.

Mitchell Copelan - Associate Director

     Mitchell Copelan is a Vice President, Relationship Manager with BankSouth, a locally owned community bank headquartered in Greensboro, GA.  He has been with BankSouth for 3 years, and spent over 6 years in banking/finance.  Mitchell is a graduate of The University of Georgia where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business. He was born/raised in Greene County and currently resides in Madison with his wife, Daniela.

Daniel A. Jones - Regulatory/Government Affairs Representative (Local & HBAG)

   Daniel A. Jones is a native of Greensboro, GA, and has been designing and building homes and commercial buildings around Lake Oconee since the lake was formed.  A graduate of the University of Georgia, with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Daniel moved back to the lake area in 1980 after working as a land planner and landscape contractor on Hilton Head Island.

  Daniel is a registered Landscape Architect and also holds a license as a Residential and Light Commercial builder.  He is a past-president of the LOABA and has received Remodel Builder of the Year awards from this association for 2009 and 2010.  He has also served as president of the Greene County Chamber of Commerce.

Daniel and his wife Martha have four children and eight grandchildren.

Brett Mauldin - HBAG Area Vice President

     Brett is the Vice President of Marble Works.  The company was founded and owned by his father, Larry Mauldin in June 1990.  Brett has worked his way up through the ranks since age 11.  He is married to Candice Mauldin.  He attended high school locally, graduating from Gatewood. He later received a degree in Business Administration from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, where he proudly served as the captain of the Rugby Football Club.

  Marble Works joined the association in November 1990.  Brett became a second-generation associate board member, following in his father’s footsteps.  He has three amazing children that are his greatest accomplishments.


Alan Deariso - BPAC Trustee


   Alan Deariso is a native of Thomson, GA and a graduate of Georgia Tech. He is a Vice President at Fowler-Flemister Concrete, Inc. where he has been employed the last 22 years. He is married to the gracious and beautiful Diane Hooper Deariso of Inverness, FL. They have two grown sons, Foster and Jesse.

Chuck Wooley - Education Director

Chuck is the Building Official for Greene County which encompasses the responsibility of building inspections, erosion control, development inspections, code enforcement, zoning and the Fire Marshall.  He has spent his entire career in the construction industry.  His previous employment was with Rockdale County as a Building Inspector III.   
  Chuck holds multiple ICC and BOAG certifications along with multiple levels of erosion control certifications.  In addition, he has certifications with OSHA, MSHA and in code enforcement.
  Chuck feels that his number one priority is to confirm that new and existing buildings are safe for the builders and end-users.  Since federal and local codes along with zoning laws are so complex, education of the builders and home/land owners along with providing corrective advice, are a major focus in his job.  In this ever-changing environment, he strives to stay on top of the changes by attending regulation update conferences and taking continuing education courses. 
  Chuck and his wife Kathy live in Madison.  They have two children and four grandchildren.  They enjoy spending time with the family, traveling and camping.  He is an active member in the community and holds offices in multiple charitable organizations. 

Julie Wade - Blood Drive Chairman


 Julie Wade is co-owner of Oconee Cabinets with brother Brad Harrison.  Oconee Cabinets was established in 1987 by their father and specializes in providing custom and manufactured cabinetry of all types to the lake area.   They are committed to excellence in craftsmanship and customer service with a reputation of integrity, honesty and open communication with local builders and all of their clients for 30 years.

  Julie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing.  She began her career at Reynolds Plantation as the Marketing Assistant then worked for Personna Medical, Wellington Leisure Products, Apple South and Century 21 gaining valuable experience in various fields.  Julie joined the family business in 2001 after being involved in construction and real estate for more than 20 years.

  Julie is married to husband Ray who also works in the family business overseeing the daily operations of the shop. They have one daughter Laura who attends the University of Georgia working on her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. They proudly reside in Putnam County are committed to supporting the community and its continued growth.  Julie looks forward to serving again on the Board of Directors of LOABA hoping to make an even greater impact on the lake area through charitable contributions this year.

Tim Pierson - Big Event Chairman

     Tim Pierson is a Financial Advisor and owner of BluePrint Financial Strategies, LLC. His financial planning firm partners with small business owners and others to craft personalized plans that help his clients achieve the retirement they desire.

He has been involved in many community and civic organizations including the Lake Oconee Elks and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is looking forward to another year of working with an amazing group of volunteers to put together “The Big Event” in March.

Tim and Lisa live in Eatonton and have two daughters – Alix (recent UGA Graduate) and Jessica (attending UGA). 

Blake Noles - Lake Vegas Chairman

     Blake Noles is co-owner with his father Steve Noles of Noles Landscaping, LLC and Lake Oconee Tree Farm.

  They have designed and installed projects ranging from the largest commercial applications to smallest residential backyard additions. Blake and his father use only the highest quality trees and shrubs that are grown on their own tree farm located in Eatonton, GA.

  They have been in the landscape industry for over 35 years and can offer a proven track record of quality and creative designs and installation from start to finish. In the late 70's Blake’s father started out growing plant material for their mail order operation which quickly expanded into growing ornamental trees and shrubs for the landscape industry.

  Blake is married to wife Susie and they have one son, Braxton who is 2 and a Chocolate Lab, Remi who is 3. They proudly chose Putnam County to call home and raise their family. Today, Blake has a strong relationship with builders and residents around the lake and cherishes the friends he’s made in the business. He strives to be a more active member in the association, by serving on the board.

Tim Askew - Lake Vegas Co-Chairman

  Tim is the son of Doug and Jackie Askew.  A lifetime resident of Greene County, Tim has been closely associated with Askew Appliance his entire life.  Mr. Doug opened the business in 1972 with a vision of high-end appliances for the luxury home market and dedicated service after the sale.

  After graduating from Oconee County High School in 1994, Tim became a full-time employee of the family business.  He started in the service department where he became a certified repair/install technician for Viking, Sub-Zero Wolf, JennAir, and several other major brands. 
In 1997 Tim moved from the service department to Sales. Since that time Tim has attended numerous trade shows and training seminars for all the major appliance brands.

  After almost 30 years in the business, Mr. Doug relinquished the business to Tim in 2001 making Askew Appliance a second generation family business.  Tim has continued to run the business with a reputation for unsurpassed customer satisfaction, personable sales and dependable post-sales service that is known throughout the lake area. 

  Tim lives in Greensboro with his wife, Tracy.  She is a graduate of Georgia State University with a BA in Psychology and an Associates of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Athens Technical College.Tracy works as a stenographer for Putnam General Hospital. 

Rick Buechler - Golf Tournament

  Rick Buechler has been building custom homes for 35 years.

  He began his building career in Columbus, Ohio, where, for 15 years, he was General Manager and Senior Executive Vice President of a homebuilding company.  He was involved in the development, marketing, construction and sales of custom homes in 32 communities throughout central Ohio, building over 7000 homes during this time.

  This experience led Rick, along with his wife Kim, to start Rick Buechler Custom Homes at Lake Oconee.  They are celebrating their 20th year here at the lake. Together, they have built over 200 homes within Reynolds Plantation and share a commitment to build the best – in quality, craftsmanship and style.

  Rick is looking forward to his involvement on the board of the Lake Oconee Area Builder’s Association and believes that the association is an excellent partner for education, communication and networking for all in the building industry around Lake Oconee.

Kelli Fowler - Marketing Chairman

     Kelli Fowler is a Senior Mortgage Banker for BankSouth Mortgage.  Kelli moved to Georgia in 1994 after graduating from college and has since called it her home.  She currently resides at Lake Oconee with her husband, Jerry.  Kelli has over 16 years of mortgage experience and prides herself on her commitment to her business and her community

  Kelli returns to LOABA as Marketing Chairman for her fifth year in 2018.  In addition to her service with LOABA, she is an affiliate member of the Lake Country Board of Realtors serving as their Programs & Events Chairman for her 12th consecutive year and works closely with Greene County Habitat for Humanity serving on the Executive Board of Directors as well as serving as the Family Selection Chairman for the 10th consecutive year.

  She hopes to continue to build strong relationships by serving on the LOABA board with a goal of providing assistance in the growth of the organization and strengthening their ties to the community.

Mark Smith, Jr - Marketing Chairman


     Mark is the General Manager for the Lake Oconee News and Eatonton Messenger. He is a 1988 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in communications. Mark serves on several local boards including the Eatonton- Putnam Chamber of Commerce and the Steffen Thomas Museum. A member of Madison Presbyterian Church, where he serves on the board of session. He and his wife, Hannah, live in Madison. They have two daughters, Caroline and Natalie.

Wendy Myers - Executive Officer

     Wendy Myers, Executive Officer has been employed by the Lake Oconee Area Builders Association  since April 2006. Wendy and her husband John reside in Greene County with their daughters Delaney and Abigail. She began her career by working for the Greene County Planning and Zoning Department. Prior to becoming the Executive Officer she also worked part time for the Association while attending college. As a graduate of Georgia College and State University, Wendy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with a Minor in Marketing. During and after graduation she was employed by the local bank working in the loan department.  As the EO, her main objective is to provide value to every member of the Association  through promoting, supporting, and educating members.
