The Lake Oconee Area Builders Association (LOABA) celebrated its 31st year serving Lake Country with a member appreciation celebration on September 4.
Members, guests and VIPs took a break from the building boom to enjoy some good food, live music from Carey Station Road and cold beer at the Oconee Brewing Company in downtown Greensboro.
Residential and commercial construction continues at a frenetic pace as young families and retirees alike move into the area looking for lake life living.
LOABA’s membership is made up of local experts in construction, design, décor and a wide variety of other services for new and existing homeowners, businesses and commercial developments.
“For more than three decades, LOABA has been dedicated to the betterment of the local community and construction industry,” says LOABA President Charlie Vill. “We appreciate our hard-working members who help build dreams every day for the people of our community.”
LOABA showcases its members in an annual fair each Spring called The Big Event which gives the public a chance to get information, some handy tips and special deals at booths while enjoying a special day of food, fun and entertainment.
This year, LOABA also awarded a total of $13,500 in college grants to 27 area graduating high school seniors, held a blood drive for the Red Cross on September 11 and will host its 25th Annual Golf Tournament on October 15 at Harbor Club on Lake Oconee. Educational workshops are scheduled for its members throughout the year.
