As President and CEO of BluePrint Financial Strategies, LLC, Tim Pierson is no stranger to leadership, and has naturally taken to his role as the Chair of The Big Event Planning committee. He has been a member of the Lake Oconee Area Builders Association since January 2016, explaining, “I joined LOABA to help gain awareness for my financial planning business, but my involvement has since become deeper than that. The LOABA’s values of giving back through education and public service are perfectly aligned with the values of BluePrint Financial Strategies. The association reaches out to the community in a number of ways over the course of a year, with The Big Event being the most visible. We are expanding our giving back in 2018 by adding a food drive that benefits our friends in both Putnam and Greene counties.”
Tim is a native Wisconsinite, but has thoroughly enjoyed living in the Lake Oconee area with his wife and two daughters since 2003. As a Chartered Financial Consultant, Tim provides small business owners, individuals, and professionals with the framework and tools to reach their financial goals. He does this by actively listening to each client, gathering their unique information to create customized solutions and plans to help them achieve their financial dreams. His commitment and personalized approach is reflected throughout the personnel ofBluePrint Financial Strategies, where the client’s interests always come first.
Tim’s experience with BluePrint Financial and the Lake Oconee Area Builders Association, along with his enthusiasm for the Lake Oconee community, come together to fuel his role in the planning of The Big Event. “It is an honor to be a small part of bringing the community together with the local building industry,” he said. Businesses gain a lot from participating in The Big Event, which “gives them a wonderful opportunity to show off what they do to thousands of their neighbors. The show offers you a chance to meet people in the community that may need your product or service, but are currently considering your competition simply because they don't know you yet!”
Tim also has an appreciation for the range of reasons why people love to attend The Big Event. “The most obvious reason to come to the festival is meeting with local businesses that are highly capable of helping with any home improvement or building project you may have, but we also get many attendees who are more focused on the other aspects of the show. We have a great selection of food trucks, a Kids zone, a car show, a boat show, educational sessions, and new this year—an antique tractor show.”
When asked to name his favorite aspect of participating in the festival, he replied that he enjoys the actual event the most. “The committee works incredibly hard over the course of a year to continuously improve the experience for our attendees and vendors. I really enjoy meeting people at the show and learning why they made the choice to spend part of their weekend with us. It feels great to see time and again how we were able to exceed their expectations.”
The Big Event is primarily about supporting locally-owned businesses, something that Tim considers to be vital for the Lake Oconee community, but it is also a fun, family friendly festival. He encourages everyone to come out and experience all that The Big Event has to offer on March 17th.
