The Big Event has been celebrating the incredible people, products, and services of Georgia’s Lake Country since 2001, and Reynolds Lake Oconee has celebrated with them since that very first festival. Director of Marketing Bev Berardo said, “Reynolds Lake Oconee is always proud to be a sponsor for The Big Event, and support the local area builders and suppliers.”
The Lake Oconee Area Builders Association will be hosting this year’s all-day, outdoor festival on March 17th, 2018, continuing their tradition of giving back to Association members, the Lake Oconee community, and visitors to the area. The Big Event highlights everyone and everything involved in building and shaping the structures that help make Georgia’s Lake Country a fantastic place to be—whether you have a primary residence here, a second home, or are just enjoying a vacation getaway.
Reynolds Lake Oconee has been helping people enjoy everything the area has to offer since 1988. Today, the luxury gated community offers six award-winning golf courses, seven elegant restaurants, four full-service marinas, multiple swimming pools, miles of trails for biking or walking, and a world-class fitness and tennis center. Reynolds also has nearly 40member lead groups and clubs, and regularly hosts concerts, food and wine tastings, lectures, and other educational, entertaining, and cultural events. Add in The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee and Spa on site, and you have a lake resort environment that provides anything you might want out of a full-time home or weekend escape.
When asked if Reynolds Lake Oconee would recommend The Big Event to an associate, the answer was a definite yes. “It feels good to take an active role in supporting the builders’ community at Lake Oconee, while also participating in a festival that brings residents and potential residents together.”
Booths at The Big Event are sold on a first come first served basis, so the sooner vendors or sponsors sign up, the better. Although the festival’s focus is on the companies and services that specialize in building, landscaping, and making the most of lake life, it is also a day of family fun where local restaurants, performers, artisans, and more can share the things that they do best. Nonprofits also participate in the fun, as do local experts who visit to speak and answer questions on topics that really matter to residents, or to anyone with an interest in the area. There is also a KIDS Zone with inflatables and bouncy houses, crafts and activities, and many other distractions to keep kids of all ages entertained.
Reynolds Lake Oconee keeps returning to the festival for a reason—The Big Event has always been great, but it continues to grow and improve every year, uniting local commerce, culture, and community in one eagerly anticipated day.
